Two Italian citizens were reported having signs of the coronavirus on Tuesday as they turn away at the Moi international airport in Mombasa. The two were said to be among the 44 passengers who landed at the airport using an Ethiopian airline flight from Addis Ababa, Marbeillo Francisco and Marbeillo Maurice.
The couples, who had travelled on a tourist visa, were not even allowed to disembark from the plane. According to Mombasa county commissioner gilbert kitiyo, after showing signs covid-19 infection they were denied entry in the country and were instead flown back to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where they had come from.
He also said that the other 42 passengers aboard the flight were allowed in the country and advised to isolate to prevent the infectious disease for 14days.
