Following the arrival of the 15 team member Chinese doctors, the Federal Government has assigned the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control to ensure the quality of all the medical supplies that were brought into the country from China.
The Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, on Wednesday, received coronavirus equipment and consumables worth 1.3 million dollars along with the health personels from China to assist the battle against the global pandemic, Covid-19 Virus.
Dr. Ehanire, in a statement, disclosed that the team was not in Nigeria to treat patients but to conduct capacity building based on their experience.
According to Dr. Ehanire, “All available resources shall be deployed to support the adequate engagement of Nigerian medical experts towards curbing the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
The Federal Ministry of Health assures that the Federal Government, through the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) will ensure the quality of all the medical supplies that were brought into the country. He also disclosed that the experts from China have gone into a two weeks isolation where they will be examined and tested for Covid-19.
In a further statement, the Minister for Health said the Chinese experts will provide a first-hand experience and insights to their means of control over ther Covid-19.
The donors, a group of Chinese companies in the country made solidarity towards support and cooperation.
