Zulum Calls For Anti-Insurgency

Towards the Book Haram insurgency in the country, the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has pledged to take more decisive measures to see that the terrorist group is “totally eliminated.”

The Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum, said this on Thursday, after a meeting with the President, following the Chadian military operations on the fringes of Lake Chad. Zulum expressed concern over a recent military action, Operation Bohoma Anger, launched by Chad against Boko Haram, which he said, had driven the insurgents into Borno State.

The operation by Chad was in response to the situation where close to 100 of its soldiers were killed by the terrorist group.

The Chad retaliation against the Boko Haram had lead the group to flee into the northern and southern parts of Borno State. Leading the Governor Zulum, with a statement bat the State House Correspondence, the need for an anti-insurgency attack.

The governor said measures should be taken to prevent the insurgents from occupying other northern states and possibly, the Southern part of the state.
